I've put together some frequently asked questions that you might want to know, and I'm happy to help any time with any further questions you may have! It’s a big deal choosing your wedding photographer - you have to feel in safe hands!
I’m based in Stourbridge just outside Birmingham, travel costs are included for weddings within a 50-mile radius of DY8. For weddings further afield an additional travel costs will be included into your package charging 45p per mile. I am happy to travel all over the UK and beyond, this may incur an over night hospitality fee for weddings more than 2 hours of travel.
A fully day coverage with me! Your high res digital images will be delivered via a private online gallery and a beautiful presentation print pouch with a selection of 50 7x5 prints. I will do a few sneak peeks on social media for your to share with your family and friends. Packages do not include any printed album products but can be purchased at an additional cost after your wedding.
My turnaround time is 4 - 10 weeks depending on my workload schedule and if it is peak wedding season. I will try and get some sneak peeks to you before then.
I hand edit a minimum of 600 images for a 10 hour package or a minimum of 300 images for a 5 hour package.
Absolutely! I usually work solo but I love to work with another professional photographer on the day, its like having a second pair of eyes to capture more of the day from another angle. I work with amazing network of photographers who I also second shoot for too. Adding additional professional photographer can help to catch those extras, grooms preparations, extra angles at the ceremony, and more coverage of the reception. You can add this to your package as an optional extra for £350.
Engagement shoots are a great opportunity for the three of us to get to know each other and for you to practice being in front of the camera for an hour, helping you to feel less nervous and more comfortable in preparation for the big day. It is a great way for you to feel relaxed in front of the camera, and build a relationship with me prior to your wedding day, as well as capturing some lovely memories. I suggest picking a location, or a walk around your local area that is special to you, where I help to encourage relaxed photos that reflect your relationship. If you’re not sure on where to go I have many suggestions that work great as engagement shoot locations.
You’ll receive a minimum of 25 hand edited images via a private online gallery. You can also use your engagement images for your save the date cards or invitations. I tend to book engagement shoots on a week day as the majority of my weekends in the summer are booked with weddings. Locations tend to be quieter in the week which helps if you are feeling camera shy. You can add this to your package as an optional extra from £350. Travel over 15 miles from DY8 and entrance fees are not included in the package price, milage is charge at 45p per mile.
I certainly do! You can add an album onto your package either at the time of booking or after the booking, or even come back to me after your wedding. I offer excellent quality fine art albums made by SIM Imaging. You can add this to your package as an optional extra starting at £550 for an A4 with 50 pages and are inclusive of the full design service, one round of amendments & delivery of the album. Please note album design and production may be difficult for me to manage during peak wedding season therefore I only take orders between the months of October - May.
Around 6-18 months. Sounds crazy but photographers get booked up extremely early in advanced, they are usually the next supplier on the list to get booked after the venue. I take bookings for last minute weddings too, this is why I keep my remaining weekends available and do not take engagement bookings on a weekend.
Unfortunately I can't guarantee my availability and can not hold dates without a booking fee.
To guarantee my availability for your date I take a 25% non refundable booking fee (deposit) of the total package cost. This ensures both parties are covered in the event of cancellation or the loss of earnings.I also issue you with a contract with terms & conditions requiring a two signatures from each part member. Once the booking fee has cleared and the contract received you are officially booked.
About 4 weeks before the wedding date I like to arrange a call with you to discuss the final details and timings for your day. This helps me work out when the best times would be for the group photos and the couples portraits. I will allocate enough time for you to have some social time with your guest during the reception. I allow up to 30 minutes for group photo’s and a maximum of 10 group shots. The reason for this is group shoots are very time consuming for both you and your guests, therefore I advise you keep to the key people such as parents, grandparents, immediate family and the bridal party. Otherwise you’ll never to eat your wedding meal while it’s still hot.
The short answer is no. I thoroughly research venues online which gives me an idea of the layout of the venue. I arrive extra early on the day to get empty shoots of the venue before your guests arrive. It mostly comes down to the available light on the day that determines where I choose certain spots for photo’s.
I average around 20 weddings a year, this ensures I can put all my time and efforts equally into each wedding. I also have a young family and find this number is manageable for me and a good work life balance.
